Changing generic RSS feed name to my the one of my choice

    Hello,

This might be a dumb question, but I’ve done my best to find a resolution here and I’m coming up short. I just recently exported an old blog hosted elsewhere and imported it to wordpress.com and you can find it here:

    http://michaelclinard.wordpress.com

The issue is when I’m logged into Google I often subscribe to feeds and add them to my Google Reader. However, when I click the orange icon in the browser’s url bar, I get:

    Michaelclinard's Weblog
    Just another WordPress.com weblog
    http://michaelclinard.wordpress.com/feed/

That said, I thought by going into Dashboard>Settings and changing the default/generic information there it would take care of all this, but I still seem to be missing something. In the Dashboard>Design>widgets, I added an RSS feed in the sidebar and named it the way I’d like it to read if one were to click on the orange icon in the url bar:

    The Blog of Michael Clinard
On the Philosophical Implications of How I Get Down

If someone happens to know how to resolve this issue, I’d greatly appreciate it.

You have to change the name and tagline of the blog. Just changing the RSS widget isn’t going to do anything. To change the name and tagline of the blog, just go to Settings->General and change things there.

And right as I typed this issue, it seems to have remedied itself. However, should someone happen to click the orange icon and get the issue I previously described, I’d appreciate the head’s up.

Thanks for these forums and I look forward to blogging like crazy.

    Mike
