Changing header (h2) color in CSS
-
Hi,
I just purchased an upgrade thinking it would enable me to change my blue headings to brown, but for the life of me I cannot do it.
I tried copying this code into the stylesheet field, but in preview mode nothing changes.
h2 { color: yellow; background-color: 582F1B;}
Anyone know if I’m doing the right thing?

You appear to have incorporated your title into the header image. Are you still wanting to do this color change?
-
Wait, you’re talking about the post/page titles, correct?
This following will change the color of the post/page titles:
.entry-title, .entry-title a { color: brown !important; }If you want to change the hover color for the post titles on the main page, the following will allow you to do that.
.entry-title a:hover { color: green !important; } -
Yow – that’s exactly what I wanted! Thank you.
The hover doesn’t seem to work – but it was the post title color that was most important to me.
You just made me very happy sacredpath.

Hmmm, the hover code works for me using Firebug directly on your site. I just retested it.
-
Gosh really? So you’re saying that if I install Firebug I could get it to work?
Do I need any CSS skills for that? (you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I have none)
Thanks,

Just looked at Firebug….don’t think that’s going to happen! Looks like serious developer stuff to me :)
-
No, Firebug is a Firefox add-on that allows you to identify CSS selectors and such more easily and it also allows you to test changes real-time while looking at your site.

The home page should look good in Firefox by default without needing any adjustments. I checked out your site and I did notice that your “Dripprz™: How I make my dripping pendants.” post is using the image post format but it has a lot of text content—that could be what’s making it look funky to you.
-
Thanks, I didn’t even realize I was using a post format. I just clicked ‘new post’ and took what I got…
I’ll look into that, thanks for that feedback.

Post formats are cool, but they can do funky things if you accidentally set one and weren’t expecting anything to change. :)
Cheers.
