Changing header image for "About" page; changes Home page instead
-
I am trying to change the image for the “About” page, but when I try to do so, the image is saved to my “Home” page instead. I’ve been clicking on the “edit” icon on the current image that is on my About page, and then following the prompts to add an uploaded image (which meets the noted specifications).
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The “Home” page and the “Blog” page of your site are displaying the site header. The “About” page has a featured image displayed instead of the site header. Featured Images are not added, removed, or replaced the same way that the site header image would be. See the Featured Images support page for relevant information and instructions, particularly the Removing a Featured Image and Setting a Featured Images sections.

Would it be possible for me to change the image for my blog header, or does it have to be the same as my home page? There is no “edit” option when I try to do so through the “Site Pages” tab…

Hi @coddaired, the header image is changed by going to Customize > Header Image, and that image will show on any page that does not have a featured image set in the page editor.

How do you change (I assume) the featured image. It’s the one with all the colored lights blurred on the front page of the post. I have added my customer background photo at the top but want to insert another image below.

@rosboroughclan
You are using a different theme. Please click this link and start your own thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 to avoid creating confusion in this thread. -

If you set a featured image on a static page, then (as @thesacredpath indicated) it will display instead of the site header. A featured image may be set on a page, post, etc. as described in the Setting a Featured Image section of the Featured Images support page.
However, when a static page is assigned as the blog page it becomes a dynamic page and no longer will display the featured image. There may be some exceptions, but I think this is case on virtually every WordPress.com theme. Therefore, you may not display a featured image on your blog page, because, even though you may set a featured image on a page set as the blog page, the featured image will not be displayed. You might, however, be able to hide the site header from displaying on the blog page with CSS Customization.
If you choose to display a site header image, then the same header image will be displayed wherever the site header displays on the theme. For Karuna, that would be on the blog page, and on any page or single post that doesn’t have a featured image set.
If you would like to display a different image at the top of the blog page than displays on your front page, here is one way to accomplish that without much trouble:
Set a featured image on your front page (as described in the Featured Images support page), and select a different image as your site header image, as described by @thesacredpath). If that is done, then site header image will be displayed on your blog page, as well as any static pages and single posts that do not have a featured image set, but not on your front page, which displays a featured image instead.

Can you hear the Hallelujah chorus? It worked–thank you very much, @musicdoc1 and @thesacredpath!
