Changing Header on Home Page
-
I want to update my header image on the home page. I was able to update the header image on all other pages besides my home page.
What do I need to do to change the image on my home page in the Gateway theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you’ve assigned a Featured Image to your Page, it will replace the Custom Header. If a Featured Image is not assigned to the Page, your Custom Header will be displayed as long as you’ve set it to a Static Front Page.
It looks like you have a default Featured Image that was already in place when you created your site. Please see the Removing a Featured Image section of the Featured Images support document for detailed instructions.
Also, here is a support document for the Gateway Theme: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/gateway/
Let me know if this helps!

Hi,
That’s a default featured image, not a header image. The Homepage Template section of the Gateway theme guide says:
2. If you wish, assign the page a Featured Image to appear as a background to the header. If no Featured Image is assigned, the Custom Header Image will be used instead.
It doesn’t tell you that a featured image will be in place on the static front page by default if you choose to display a “welcome page” on the homepage during the site creation process.
For more information on this issue see the forum topic Header Image issues, particularly my last few posts there.
