Changing header settings

Yikes! Too bad you didn’t do a forum search and support documentation search before your purchased the upgrade. Now you will be in the unenviable position of applying for a refund and this is why:The “Home” tab in the Vigilance theme is coded into the template underlying the theme. We cannot access, let alone, edit templates at wordpress.com and purchasing a CSS upgrade does not change that reality.
Does the CSS upgrade let me edit HTML?
No. The CSS Upgrade is CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup, PHP code, or content. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/The Custom CSS Upgrade, however, does NOT grant you the ability to edit the core PHP and HTML template files of any theme. This functionality is only applicable to privately-hosted blogs and sites using the WordPress.org software. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

Your solution is to change theme and use one that does not have that “Home” tab coded into the template like the new Twenty Ten theme for example or another one. See > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/category/homefrontblog-tab/

Ah, the bearer of bad news. It’s alright, I’ll recover. But, I still can’t figure out how to add or edit the links that appear in my header. I would like to add a link to return to the blog’s front page as well as a link to go to my external website. Is this possible?
Thanks.

Also, it seems like the tag cloud widget isn’t available in 2010. Is that possible or am I missing something?
Sorry to go off topic but I was on a roll and seem to have an attentive-and knowledgeable-audience.

Yes. You can simply create a new static page and do not enter either a title or content to it. Instead in the title field enter this link instead >

As far as adding a link to your external website goes please run that by Staff and get their permission first, as wordpress.com blogs are not to be used to drive traffic to third party sites. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Now with regard to the Tag Cloud widget I already had one in my Inactive widgets box and was able to install it in Twenty Ten. If it’s not appearing in your Available Widgets box then, as this is a new theme, you may want to ask Staff to confirm whether or not it is meant to be available.
