Changing how site appears on Google

    Hi everyone,

Can anyone support me with this issue I’m having on my website?

When looking up my website on Google, I see the URL instead of the website name “The Soccer Bets” (see attached picture). Does anyone have a fix for this?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

Search engines like Google take that title from the Meta title of the websites. I checked your site and confirmed that it has the correct “The Soccer Bets” meta title. The reason it’s showing up differently could be that this was recently updated, and when Google crawled your site for the first time to index it, the meta title was still not set up.

Do you remember if you updated the title recently? Or anytime after the site privacy was set to Public?

I also see that your site is less than a month old. This might mean Google is still indexing it. If you’re using Google Search Console, please try requesting Google to recrawl your site. You can find out how to do this here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/ask-google-to-recrawl

The update won’t be immediate, and even after recrawling, it may take days for the search engine result page to be updated, but this is the only way I’m aware of, and because it’s on Google’s end, we have no other control to update it from our side.

Please give it a try and let us know if you have more questions.

    Thanks!

Thank you for your response @aisajib. The title was always the same from the beginning when I started my website. I did verify the Google Search Console and my index page was last crawled on August 13th (no changes were done before this date when it comes to the site title). I’ve requested another crawl today so let’s see what happens. I will keep you posted.

  • @thesoccerbets we’ll be interested to hear what you find. Also, have you used Yoast from the start? I’m curious whether that makes any difference; perhaps it’s got another setting somewhere.

@supernovia Yes I have used Yoast from the start.

  • Thanks. Let us know what you find. I can confirm my sites all display the Site Title (spaces and all) in Google results, so it should just work with our default setup.

I tried searching for anything Yoast had to say about it, and found this: My SEO title isn’t showing as I have entered it. Perhaps one of those tips will help?
