Changing Identitites when commenting

  I have three blogs. Sometimes I would like to comment on someone else’s blog using one of my blogs, AmishCreek. Sometimes it’s more appropriate to comment using another of my blogs, AtticExplorers. How do I control which blog/avatatar appears when I comment on someone’s blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you are logged into wp.com, and all of your blogs are connected to one user account (one email address), then you will have to change your personal settings each time you want to comment with a different link to a different “primary blog.”
  dashboard —> Users —> Personal Settings —> scroll to ‘Account Details’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog—>save the changes.

  Easier to transfer your separate blogs to different accounts (ie, different email addresses) so you would actually be different personae when commenting in one place or another. The different accounts would have different email addresses, even if they all belong to you.

  For example, I transferred my work blog to a different user so my personal blogs would not be on the same account as my work blog. I have both email addresses, but I have two separate accounts. I’m still “me” on both accounts, but have separate identities.

  To make things simpler, I use Firefox for personal account and Safari for work. That way I don’t have to keep logging in and out on a browser to change my identity.

  AmishCreek and AtticExplorers have been separated. The operation took about 45 minutes. Both patients ar doing well.

  2. How to make your name link to your blog:
  Go into your dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to ‘Account Details’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
  Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.
