  I can’t see the change layout option. Where is it?

  Hi there, I believe it used to be an option in the sidebar when editing a Page, but I believe that option has been removed.

  I’ve also marked this thread for Staff input. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

  Hi @amif011 we removed the “change layout” option on existing pages since it overwrites page content (and can lead to unintended deletions) as this has been an issue with some site owners who have lost content when switching layouts.

  To avoid that issue the page layout option is only available when creating a new page, which you can do here: https://wordpress.com/page/classicbycycles954387530.wordpress.com/

  This will launch our new and improved template picker, and you can choose a layout from the options presented there.

  If I can ask, what is the (current) page on your site you are trying to change the layout on? You are just getting started with your site, yes?

  @amif011 if by chance you are taking a Coursera WordPress course (as your site address could indicate) you might want to leave feedback for the course instructor about this change.

  my 2¢/
  staff-totoro – I don’t know if this is the place to leave feedback about the new page template picker, but the old one displayed the full template content prior to selecting the template which made it easier to view and decide. The new template thumbnail and description beneath it really isn’t sufficient for that.
