Changing 'Like' button to 'Recommend' with corresponding advantages

Can we change the ‘Like’ button to become ‘Recommend’ or something like that? Then a certain number of recommendations would get the blog post to Freshly Pressed. It would also give an important role to the reader, make WordPress more different to facebook etc.

I like that idea as it would get rid of the Fecbook connotation re: “like”.

I dislike this part though. I don’t care to have any of my posts on Freshly Pressed because what I used to see there when I visited that page which I no longer do is not what I would choose to feature at all.

oops! edit: “Fecbook” was meant to be Facebook.

Yes, I agree with you, the Facebook connotation bothers me a touch. We should ‘Recommend’ like we would for a good book or article.
I see your point about Freshly Pressed – thanks.
