  We have social media links at the top of our page but we’d like for them to be social icons instead. It’s not a social widget, just links.

  Hello @thepeedmont,
  You cannot display them as icons if your theme does not support it, because that’s a theme feature. And it seems like your theme(MH Magazine): https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/mh-magazine/, does not support it.

  However, since you are using a premium theme you can always ask questions on the MH Magazine forum: https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/mh-magazine, and see if those links can be displayed as icons.

  Here are some alternative you can use to display social icons on your site(not on the header):
