Changing logo position to top menu in Lodestar

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I have my website set up with Lodestar. I am happy with it apart from one thing which is quite a big thing. What I would like to do is change the position of my logo. It is currently in the middle of the header and it is really big with the site title and tagline underneath. I’m happy with where the site title and tagline are but I really want to move the logo and place it on the top right of the menu bar with the text ‘Lucid Eye’ to the right of it.
Currently it is too big and takes the attention from the rest of the page. It would look more subtle if I could place it on the menu bar. If there is no way round it I will have to consider choosing a different theme and starting from scratch but I doubt I will have the time to do this as I’ve spent months designing a site which I am, otherwise, over the moon with.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Chris.

  • Hi Chris, good work!

Generally, repositioning elements is outside the scope of official staff support, but perhaps this post will help:

    Hi supernovia,

I’ll have a closer look at this tonight and see what I can do. I noticed that part of the instruction tells me to get the html for my logo. Where do I get this from?

I had a play around with my logo yesterday and ended up removing it all together from my header. I’ve added it to my text on my home page, on my about page, and as a widget on my blog page. However, I’m not convinced I like it in the text. Plus it is a different shade of white to the background of my text so it looks a bit amateurish.

I’ll have a go tonight with the instructions in the other post and see if that will help.

    Many thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Supernovia,

I followed the instructions; went into the customizer, theme options, header top text and managed to put the html for the logo (which I copied from converting the logo into html in the block editor). It did work but it was massive so I reduced it to 50×50 which was fine. The problem is that it has made my menu bar twice as wide and also I cannot get it to align centrally with the menu options to the left of it. Plus when I tried to write ‘Lucid Eye’ in the other header box it appears lower down. I want it beside it centrally to the right.
As a result I have taken it off. I don’t know if there is any way to solve the alignment issues and also the sissue with the width of the menu bar which I don’t want to be any wider.
I’ve also added the logo to where it was originally in the middle of the header so you can understand what I was talking about in my original post. As you can see it is far too big and it would be much less subtle if I could get it much smaller and in the menu bar.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Chris.

  • Hi Chris,

as @supernovia mentioned, repositioning elements is outside the scope of our support so we can’t really help with that.

Ok thank you Fresatomica. I’ll give Live Chat a try tomorrow before giving up the ghost!
