Changing menu color

Hi Smart People!
I just purchased the Creative Theme and I love it…except for one thing. I suck at CSS and really need to find a way to
a.) get rid of the pink color of the menu font
b.) get rid of the pink color that is cast over my featured image of the blog section.thank you!

It looks like you are no longer using the Creative theme. Is that the case?
Do you need any help with your current theme?

I did a horrible thing and had a wonderful young man from your staff help me with CSS…..and then i realized I didn’t like the theme and didn’t want to spend money on it lol
So yes, you’re correct I am now using Sela….BUT I do have a few questions :)
I loved the featured image area in the Creative theme….I really would love a slide show on the homepage of my site. Any ideas how to imbed one similar to the one in the Creative theme?? -
The Stela theme doesn’t work with the post slider, but we have lots of themes that do. Here’s the full list

embed one on the homepage using CSS??? or no?
I’m afraid not. CSS is really useful for changing the look of elements on your site, moving them around, and hiding them. You can’t use it to create or add features that don’t exist.
So, if you want a post slider, you’ll have to start with a theme that has one built in.

I have chosen Blissful Blog. everything is what I need except the background. can I get rid of it?

I’m seeing a white background on your site now. Does that mean you found the way to change it, or are you still looking for help?

No still need help…..if I want it any other color, the flowers of the background will come back into sight….here, I’ll switch it really quick

Picking the color white will eliminate that pattern, but am I allowed to switch to a solid color without pattern?

You are. You can do that from Appearance>Background on your WP-Admin dashboard

Just choose to remove the background image, and then pick the color you want at the bottom.

It can be fixed with CSS, but the easier thing is to choose featured images that are exactly 1180px wide, and the hight you want them to be.
Do you want to see if you can make that work first?
If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll work on the CSS for you.

Since talking last, I have changed the theme for the FINAL time.
I now have Sela and I’m pleased. (no really :) )I only have a few questions with it.
ON the demo, it has 3 widget columns with text above and below.
I can’t figure out how to add text beneath the image widget and furthermore, hyperlink the “Read more→”
also, i’ve tried to change the size of the image widget but it continues to stay the same ratio. I’d rather it be like a square, rather than a portrait. Does that make sense?Also, one other thing. My featured image has a white box on the front. I’d like to make it smaller if possible???

The demo site did this by using the text widget and writing the HTML code by hand. I can show you how to do that if necessary, but let’s see if we can get close enough using the image widget first.
You have the image and the text above. Try putting the text you want to appear under the image in the caption box and see if you like what it looks like.

The widget is going to keep the aspect ratio of the original photo to avoid distorting the image. If you crop the photo to square, then link to the updated image, it will appear square on your site.
Also, one other thing. My featured image has a white box on the front. I’d like to make it smaller if possible???
You can change the size of that box with CSS. Just paste the following code into the CSS box in your customizer
.front-page-content-area .with-featured-image{ width: 400px !important; }You can play with the width until you find something you like.

Is there a way to delete the white box all together?
And if not, when I narrow the width, it gets incredibly long. If I can’t delete it, can I at least shorten it as well as the narrow the width?thanks for your help with the rest of my issues. It’s going along good.

Absolutely. The following code removes the white box and the text inside it.
.front-page-content-area .with-featured-image{ display: none; }It’s also possible to remove, or change the color of the box and keep the text if you would prefer that. Just let me know.

I think I like it just gone for now. That helped a lot!
So, talking alignment. Is it possible for the pages of the Sela theme to be center-aligned? All of the text on the pages seem to be left aligned…it kind of breaks up the clean theme.
How can I change that?

I SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST QUESTION :)
My business name is very significant because of the font I use on all of my marketing products.
So I am using the Sela Theme and I uploaded a specific header image to use that has my brand’s name.
The only problem is, since I am not showing the Title Text, when you click on the image, it doesn’t return you to the Home Page.
Is there a way for me to get the link to my home (or front) page attached to my header so I can use my custom brand?
