Changing Menu Tite

My Shop Page has my product menu and it says ‘Shop Men.’ I do not what it to say that. All I want it to say is ‘Shop.’ There is no way to change or edit this anywhere I’ve looked for hours.

    Hi,

The Shop page on the site https://www.moderndefensepa.com/ is presently titled “Shop.” If you’re not referring to that title then I don’t know what you refer to. Has the issue been resolved? If not, then please specify where the menu titled “Shop Men” may be found on that page.

Also, the link list in the left sidebar widget area on that page is titled “Product Categories.” Were you referring to that menu?

I believe I’ve resolved the menu title by going to a different theme. The biggest issue that I have now is that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit things that show up on my website, but not the page when editing it in wordpress. For example: my page currently has an image with a discount code at the top. Below that it has two identical blocks with recently added items. They are both identical and on top of each other. Why can I not edit and delete one of these in wordpress? Am I expected to know how to delete the specific code on the html TEXT tab? How is any normal person building a website with minimal knowledge supposed to know how to do that? I can’t edit the images on the bottom of the page either that have nothing to do with my store.

Also, every singe Category section in my store has white lettering and there’s no simple way to change the font, color, size or location of the text. So most of the category titles are virtually invisible.

    Hi,

I hadn’t noticed before that your site is self-hosted and not hosted by WordPress.com. That, and the fact that it’s not using a WordPress.com theme, indicates that this is not the correct forum for you. Someone has called for staff attention, so staff will respond here, but I believe they will refer you to one or more of the following regarding the issues you’ve described:

    • the WordPress.org support forums
    • your hosting provider (DreamHost, I think)
    • the creators of the premium theme, The Retailer, that the site is using
  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host moderndefensepa.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host (Dreamhost) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (sometimes called “WordPress.org”) which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.

I did take the time to examine the source code of your site however, and can see it is using The Retailer theme for WooCommerce. The issue you are referring sounds like a display issue related to your theme. We do not offer The Retailer theme on WordPress.com, but the good news is that help is available directly from the creators of your theme: https://themeforest.net/item/the-retailer-responsive-wordpress-theme/4287447/support

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help. Thanks!
