changing my account email address
-
Can anyone please help? I have four blogs on the same account. When I send a test message via the Contact page of one of these (https://zoomforcat.wordpress.com/), it arrives in inbox A (my current address), but a message sent to another blog (https://wikipediasdarkmatter.wordpress.com/) goes to inbox B (an old one that I can still access). If I try to change the account e-mail from B to A I’m told it’s already in use although I only have one account and I can’t see address A listed anywhere in the account pages.
Ideally I’d like to change from address B to A for all my blogs as default but I can’t work out how to do it. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received. The instructions available at https://wordpress.com/support/update-contact-information/ don’t seem to work and I’m wondering if I don’t have these options as all my domains are free ones?

Hi,
There’s only one account email address per account, but the email address or addresses that a Contact Form is sent to needn’t be the same as the account email address. Where a contact form is sent to is determined by the address or addresses entered in the appropriate box at Form Settings. See the Form Block Settings section of the Form Block support page for relevant information.

So it sounds like you have email address A in the “Email address to send to” box at Form Settings in a Form Block on one site, and email address B in the corresponding box in a Form Block on the other site. Either or both of them can be changed.

Hi musicdoc1, many thanks for that! I’ve followed the instructions carefully and have managed to change the send-to address in the Contact Form. I’ll sort out the account e-mail another time I think!

You’re welcome!
Let us know if you still want to change the account email address and are encountering some difficulty.

Thanks – that’s very kind. I’ll have a go using the link you shared and if I get really stuck perhaps I will if you’re sure you don’t mind…
