Changing my blog address… how will this affect current "pins" on Pinterest?
-
I have recently registered a domain and want to start using it… but I’m concerned about whether changing my blog address will stop the “pins” currently pinned to Pinterest from my blog from connecting to the pages they are meant to link to. If I move my blog, will those pins no longer link to the intended posts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you mean you have a custom domain like whatever.com that you are mapping to your WP.com blog, it won’t have any effect. Getting a custom domain essentially means that your blog has two URLs: whatever.com and whatever.wordpress.com and they both work all the time (unless you forget to renew the custom domain, in which case links to whatever.com stop working but the others all work).
If you mean going from one whatever.wordpress.com URL to a different one of the same configuration, that might be a problem. Nobody has reported that it IS a problem, and the domain is supposed to forward to the new one, but there have been some glitches.

If I keep wordpress as my host but use a custom domain, will I be able to run ads on my site? (WP disables that function for people using it as a free host, correct?) I’m find with staying at wordpress so long as I can start running ads, etc.

Getting a custom domain gives you nothing but a custom domain. It does not exempt you from the Terms of Service here. You cannot run ads.

Yes, but unless your new URL is getting 500-1000 hits a day, you will almost certainly lose money because it won’t pay for the hosting costs.
