changing my blog domain name

Help, guys!
To my horror, I’ve just noticed that all this while I’ve been mispelling my blog name, blog address and blog user name… it should be Salonniere (two n’s, one r) not Salonierre (one n, two r’s)!! Serious dumb moment :
Anyway, I’m currently in the midst of frantically correcting this. I’ve managed to change the spelling of my user name but how can I change my domain address http://www.thesalonierresapartments.com to http://www.salonnieresapartments.com?
Somehow what I’ve managed to do is create an extra blog which I don’t know how to get rid of and I’m getting a bit lost right now and worried I’ll delete everything on my blog. Any help right now (and especially simple, easy to follow, step by step instructions will be awesome since as you can all see I’m having multiple dumb moments, one after another! *cringe*) will be most appreciated!

Don’t delete anything, because that is permanent.
On the dashboard of the blog you want to use, go to the UPgrades Store page and just buy the custom domain you want, and if you don’t have domain mapping you’ll need that too. Then set the domain you want as primary.

Sorry, one more question. I just tried doing as you said and purchasing the custom domain I wanted. when I tried to buy the domain thesalonnieresapartment.com (the one with the correct spelling!) it told me the name was already registered. I was a bit taken aback as I’m sure nobody else has that website domain. Could it be because I’ve already changed my user name to thesalonnieresapartment (rather than the saloNieRREsapartment) to reflect the right spelling that it’s saying I’m registered and all I need to do is pay a little extra to map it? How do I ensure that it’s me who’s currently owning the domain name thesalonnieresapartment.com and not just someone else that I don’t know about?

just editing, I thought I’d add that I also own the domain thesalonnieresapartments.wordpress.com. Is this why it’s saying the name is already registered and I can go ahead and map it right away to thesalonnieresapartments.com?

Okay, I tried a couple more times and finally the domain is unregistered and I managed to register it as my own! Hooray! I don’t know why it said it was registered before. Everything changed and mapped out accordingly. Super thank you for all your help!!!
