Changing my blog web address
-
Hi there,
I have been writing in wordpress for almost a year now and really enjoy this blog site. Its easy to use and I even got my school to use wordpress for our school website.
My question regards my own personal blog, however…
I would like to request being guided through changing my blog web address. Currently, it is set up as cpingb.wordpress.com, however I unfortunately have a situation where I am being stalked through many means, my blog included. I wondered if changing the web address of my blog would deter this individuals activity, and how would I go about doing that. I have looked in all the forums on this site, however haven’t come up with the answer I am looking for. If at all possible, I would REALLY like to not have to set up a NEW blog, but if that’s what has to be done, it’s what I’ll have to do.
I appreciate you help and welcome any tips or advice you can offer.
Thank you kindly,

I do not advise change a blog address to shed yourself of a troll. I recommend keeping your blogging cool.
Read these please:
http://en.wordpress.com/abuse/
http://en.wordpress.com/complaints/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/disputes/We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. Everyone on the internet can view and follow any public blog. That is in fact what the public designation means.
You can change your blog visibility to “private” http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ Please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/
Note that you have complete control over everything that’s posted to your blog via comment moderation
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderationYou don’t have to post any comment on your blog. Delete troll posts http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/03/27/how-to-starve-a-troll/
and mark only spam as spam. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/01/24/mark-only-spam-as-spam/You can use the comments blacklist to send the spam to the spam queue automatically. Enter their email address, their username, and if they included it, their website URL. That will automatically send them to moderation so that their comments do not appear on the blog.
Do note though that if they are determined, they can use a different email address or username to get around that. Also, do not put their IP address in the blacklist. IP addresses are no longer unique, and you might end up blocking legitimate visitors. Also, all they would have to do is go to a wi-fi hot spot, or connect via a different ISP and they could get around that.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklistOne other thing I would suggest is to set your blog so that first time commenters are held in moderation till approved, then from that point forward they will not need approval. Settings > Discussion. The next step beyond that is to set it so that all comments are held in moderation until approved. That way you are in control, and they might just get tired and go elsewhere after a while.
However, if you want to change the blog address ie. the URL, then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that by using this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
That option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
