changing my blog/domain name

Hi,
I would like to change the name of my blog. I entered the new name and clicked on the “Update Primary Domain” but nothing happens. Is there something else that I need to do?

Yes. You need to purchase the domain name and domain mapping upgrade; you can do this in one step by following the instructions here:

I dont’t understand…I did not pay anything when I put the first name. Why do I have to buy one now?
Are we talking about the same thing? When I clicked on the “Update Primary Domain” I did get a message saying that it had been upgraded. I did receive an email with my new name…it just does not come up when I google it.
Does it take time for it to show up when someone googles it? I know my first name did not show up for awhile. It does show up now. Do I have to wait again for the new name to show up?

Do you want to change your blog from blognameA.wordpress.com to blognameB.wordpress.com? That is not possible with the click of a button. You cannot simply change blognames like that. You have to register a new blog B and then export everything from blog A and import into it blog B.

Well, I can’t give advice specific to YOUR blog since you haven’t told me where it is. But you can’t add a domain name to a blog at WordPress.COM without purchasing the domain name upgrade.
