changing my current site to a free site

  Hi,
  my current website is http://www.mindfulwithsanne.com
  i would however want to cancel my subscription and hosting (bluehost) and create a free website on wordpress. can my current website layout be transferred to a free version so that i don’t have to do the whole designing process again? I tried when opting for free site but it said it doesnt support the platform my current paid site is on, but that is also through wordpress….

  Hi there,

  From what I can see (by examining the source code of your site) you appear to be using the Astra theme, which is not a theme we offer on WordPress.com. Because of this it’s not possible to move an exact copy of your site over to WordPress.com managed hosting.

  You do have this option by upgrading to our Business plan, which will allow you to use any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress”, including Astra. If you are interested in that option you can follow the steps here to migrate an exact copy of your site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/

  If your goal is to have a totally free site without any upgrades, you will instead need to do “content only” migration, and add your post and pages using the steps here:

  This will allow you to add set up your current site contents using one of our built-in themes. This is a good option if you are considering a redesign: https://wordpress.com/themes/

  Also I should point out that free sites must use the free “wordpress.com” address, but if you want to keep mindfulwithsanne.com as your site address we do have low cost options that you can choose from. Feel free to let us know if that is the case, thanks!
