Changing my domain

  I will be closing down my yoga studio shortly but I would like to keep my website/content.

  I would like to change my domain name from my studio name to a personal domain name. Can this be done?
  If I change my domain name, will there be a charge? and how much?
  If I change my domain name can I keep the content in my current site?

  Unfortunately, no. When you purchase and register a domain name, it can only be used for one site, with the exact name you registered it with.

  You can however register a new domain (https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-a-domain-without-creating-a-site/), for example, yourname.com, and then connect that to your current site and all its content.

  If I change my domain name, will there be a charge? and how much?

  When you register additional domains through WordPress.com, it will be $18/per domain, per year. Learn more here:

  If I change my domain name can I keep the content in my current site?

  There are a couple options you can do to keep your content:
  – Export your content
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
  – Or you can leave it as is, and register a new domain as mentioned previously, then connect your domain to your site with all its current content

  I can see you are currently using upthehillyoga.com. It’s possible to use something different, but you will need to purchase a new custom domain.

  Just so you are aware, once a domain has been cancelled there is no guarantee you will be able to get it back. For this reason we only recommend cancelling a domain if you are sure you won’t need it again in the future.

  Changing domains won’t remove any content from your site :)
