Changing my email address

My old email has been shut down. When I try to change my email, I receive a message that it is already being used.

The WordPress.com account you’re using to post here was only created in April and does not own any sites. It doesn’t appear that you’ve been active on this account since creating it, and I don’t see any email change requests in the logs for this account.
Can you please confirm whether it’s the email address for this account you’re trying to change? Or is it for another account?
And what is the email address you’re trying to change to?

I’ve resolved it myself by removing (email visible only to moderators and staff) and replacing it with another gmail address not already in use. My account page accepted the change. No further action is necessary.

The April account was created in error. It needs to be deleted.
My current website account (WendyFallon.com) is my correct account. I’ve resolved the problem by removing (email visible only to moderators and staff) and replacing it with a new, current email NOT used on the April account. Please let me know if you need any further details. Thank you. -
