changing my gravatar identity

I’m trying to change my gravatar identity but it seems the name of my choice is already taken. I believe this to be because it actually still belongs to me, from an account I previously cancelled. If this is the case I’m wondering if it’s possible to reinstate that previous identity and to apply it to my current wordpress websites.

Since my last post I’ve been able to change my gravatar identity, but not to the name I want. When I try to do so I get a message to say the account I’m trying to access has been deleted. Unfortunately I’m not able to provide sufficient information to complete the ‘account recovery form’, and it seems there’s no other way to connect with the help I need, unless someone from wordpress admin is monitoring this thread and can assist, in which case my gratitude in advance for their reply.
