Changing my header in wordpress.com

I need to change my header in wordpress.com. I have looked all over the forums and googled this information and can’t find a viable solution for what I want to do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to appearance > header in your dashboard and you can upload a new header image there. I suggest creating an image the exact size listed on that page so that no cropping has to occur. The wordpress crop and resize feature is not nearly as good as a good image editing program.

Thank you that was a pretty simple fix that I feel silly needing help with. I have one more problem however. When I go to my home page it says “apologies but the page you requested could not be found.” First, I would like it if I could get SOMETHING to show up on my homepage so when others go to my page it doesn’t look like my site is blank. Second, if I can figure that out, I want my home page not to look like a blog. Thank you for helping me. I see that you have already helped a lot of bloggers!

You have to make a post in order for a post to show up.
As for your second issue, define “not looking like a blog.”

I tried making a post but I couldn’t get it to link up with the home page…I was just told that I could make a custom home page that makes it look more like a website than a blog.

If you aren’t going to be doing posts, then create a static front page and name it whatever you want. They go to settings > reading and set that page as your static front page. If you also want a blog page where you can post, then create another page (leave the body blank) and at settings > reading set that page as the “blog” page.
