Changing my host to Bluehost
-
I recently changed my hosting to Bluehost and I’m having problems with redirecting my website. I’ve contacted Bluehost who told me to contact Wildwestdomains who told me to contact WordPress. I’m so confused now and I have no idea how to fix this. Also I know is I’m supposed to point domain nameservers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!

That domain is registered at WordPress.com and the site is currently hosted at WordPress.com. Can you explain in more detail what exactly are your plans? The normal procedure is outlined here: https://move.wordpress.com/ As I can’t quite see what you’re trying to achieve I’ve added a modlook tag to ask if a member of staff can explain things better than I can.

Thank you for responding back. My website that was on WordPress is up and running with my old information. However when I changed to Bluehost I was given a temporary domain. I want to convert the information from that temporary domain to my previous website domain of simplebalanceliving.com. I was told that my domains are pointing to my old information on WordPress but should be redirected to bluehost. Right now it says that my website is ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com. But these should be ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com. I hope that’s more clear.

Hello there!
Did you build a new site at Bluehost on a temporary domain and you are just looking to connect that site to the domain simplebalanceliving.com?
It sounds like Bluehost already added DNS hosting and has provided you with the name servers ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com. If these name servers are correct (verify with Bluehost), you can simply change the nameservers by following this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/If you’re moving your site to another host, they suggest you transfer your domain to the new host so that both your domain and your hosting are managed in the same place. Makes things easier in the long run but does require some extra steps to do this:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/Please let me know if you have more questions!

After you get the domain transferred over or change name servers, update the A record to point to the hosting plan at Bluehost.

I am actually finding that the domain has name servers set to:
ns1.bluehost.com
ns2.bluehost.com -
Thank you sooooo much!!! I have finally figured out how to do this with all of the help on this forum!!! Just have to wait a few days and then my website will be up and running. Thank you again!!!!
