Changing my name

Hey there, I wanted to change my username to ‘arjunmfischer’ or ‘arjunfischer’. Both of them were previous names of mine and I know they aren’t taken right now but it still won’t let me and says they are taken. Do I just have to wait or is there any way that I can get that username?

The account with username ‘arjunfischer’ was created about three years ago in 2016. The account with username ‘arjunmfisher’ was created less than an hour ago.
Here are the corresponding forum profiles of the three accounts:
- arjunfischer: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/arjunfischer/
- arjunmfischer: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/arjunmfischer/
- arjunfischerr: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/arjunfischerr/
So both usernames exist, and they represent different accounts than the one you logged into to submit the above request, each with a different account email address. If those are your accounts, then you would log into one or the other using the corresponding username or email address and password. This can be done on a different browser, or when logged out of the ‘arjunfischerr’ account. Clearing the browser cache and cookies might be necessary if you do it on the same browser.

In addition to what @musicdoc1 said above, note that if you ever change a username to something else, the original username does not become available again, but is permanently deleted from our system and cannot ever be used again by anyone, including the original owner.
