Changing my public display name

    I have been trying everything seemingly possible to change my public display name. I’ve gone into my account, my gravatar, my profile etc all to no avail. Could someone help with this problem please? Thank you.

    I’m looking at your account page and it’s showing your name as your public display name currently: screenshot https://d.pr/i/ACA67v

    To change it, just edit the field indicated in that screenshot above and that will change your public display name.

    Hi.
    I’ve looked at the screenshot you sent me but although I have done this and can see what you’re referring to. However, when you then go to my site, the name ‘Elliesofia Thompson’ is still showing whereas I’ve tried to change it to ‘Ellie Thompson’ which is the public display name I want to use. I have followed your instructions several times and it’s just not working. I’m also finding it impossible to upload a new image as this is being rejected too. These problems only occurred when I changed my email address due to going over to another email provider. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in but still no change. I really need to alter both my public display name and my image as soon as possible because I intended to write an up-to-date post having been away for a couple of years now. I’m eager to get both these issues solved. Please could you help with this as I’ve tried everything you have suggested to no avail. Thanks very much, Ellie.

    Hi Ellie! So I looked at this a bit closer. I noticed you mentioned you’ve been away for a couple of years, which was really helpful information. I found your Gravatar account (which is how we save and present your display name, avatar, etc.) had been disabled. I’ve just re-enabled it. It could take several minutes to enable. Give it at least 15 minutes before you try attempting to upload a new avatar image if you could please.

    If it still does not work, let us know. Hopefully this is the quick fix you were looking for.

    I also noticed the full name at the top of your site. That’s coming from the Site Identity setting within the Customizer. If you are also wanting to change that, you can change that here: https://d.pr/i/Z0oOVp
