Changing my theme

I’ve noticed that there are tons of sites that offer “free wordpress themes”. Can I change my theme to one from one of these sites? (www.wpthemesfree.com is one that comes to mind.) If so, how is this done?

The themes you are looking at are coded for the original wordpress from wordpress. org They are coded to run on different software than ours here. All our themes here at wordpress.com have been “adapted” to run on this wordpressMU multiuser software.
The answer is “no”. You cannot upload themes from other sites. We do not ftp upload anything at wordpress. com. The themes you can use are here -> Presentation -> Themes and if you are experienced in css editing then you can purchase a css upgrade and “tweak” them.
