Changing my URL

I have already upgraded and added a .co.uk URL (from 123 Reg) onto my wordpress site but I now need to change it again ! The other URL was also purchased through 123 Reg. I thought I had followed the correct instructions (‘pointing’ my domain to the old URL) but nothing has happened (3 days later…) help….thx

the current URL is talkingtolampposts.co.uk and I want it to now be patienth69.com which I bought via 123 Reg… what do I do to switch it over? thx

You would add a new mapped domain here:
https://wordpress.com/domainsThen you would make the domain primary. By leaving both domains on the site until it’s closer to the first one’s expiration, you’ll give search engines a chance to update links — and by making the new domain primary, you’ll give them the signal that they should.
