Changing my URL?

    Hey all! I’ve recently decided to change my URL from http://www.rudecrudeandclassy.com to something a little more ‘suttle’ and ‘grown up’. However, I’ve tried what seems to be everything** suggested.

    I’ve tried several different tutorials to do this or that. Every time I try to go through BlueHost to change the URL, though, and then go into my WP and change it, I get locked out. I’m really not tech savvy at this. I can change a Tumblr URL no problemo. This is giving me all kinds of grief, though. I’m not a developer, coder, or html guru.

    I’ve tried the phpMyAdmin and everything and have had absolutely no luck. Am I missing a step? Can someone give me a step-by-step?

    Hi there,

    Your site at http://www.rudecrudeandclassy.com/ is actually not hosted at WordPress.com. While this forum is for WordPress.com users, you may refer to this support doc to clear up any confusion you may have between self-hosted sites (like yours) and fully hosted sites through WordPress.com: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/.

    Nevertheless, with a WordPress.org site like yours, you shouldn’t have to log into the dashboard to change/update your URL. You’ll need to contact BlueHost customer service, and they’ll be able to assist you in getting your preferred domain linked to your site.
