Changing my URL

  I want to change the URL, but I am worried about what will happen to my old posts. How can I be sure that they will be fond under the new URL?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @meowiesite, are you changing the url for meowiesite.wordpress.com ? If so, all of the posts will be moved to the new address. If not, please confirm what site you are renaming so we can give correct advice.

  I do want to point out, if you have outside links to the old address (like from search engines or facebook posts) those links may not automatically be changed for you. If you’ll confirm what site you are renaming and what you’re renaming it to, we’ll be able to know for sure and give corrective steps if needed.

  Thanks for the reply. We are changing catnipblog.com to peggyarndt.com ( I co host the site with JudithWesterfield.

  Got it. Thanks for updating us. WordPress.com (our service) and WordPress.org (the free software you’re using with another host) are different, especially in this aspect, so I’d recommend working with your host on this.

  But here is some information from WordPress.org with various ways on how to go about this:
  https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

  This will not work unless you’ve also made the appropriate changes on the hosting end of things, so please do reach out to them. You can also ask them about “301” redirects.
