Changing my user name issue

    Hello there,
    My current username is sagemath and I would like to change it to be ‘talgalili’.
    Sadly, many years ago I opened an account at wordpress.com under the user name ‘talgalili’ but I no longer have access to the email that created it (in fact, I have no idea which email I’ve used for it). You can confirm this by checking and finding that the user talgalili has not been active for many years.
    Would it please be possible to release that user name so that I could use it for my primary account?

    Hi Tal,

    I may disappoint you but you can’t have a username that belongs to another account.
    As per quoted in Support document page, the old name is not available even after deletion.

    Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use.

    Apparently, your username is reserved with your previous account. WordPress.com accounts maintain unique usernames. So, sadly you can’t have it back.
