Changing my web address?

  Hi I currently have my domain as http://www.adamtelian.com and I’d like to change that to another custom domain that I will own. Is there a way to just change that domain name or do I need to buy another one? If so, what is the best way to do this without losing readers?

  Registered domain names cannot be changed, and yours has long passed the refund period. In this case, you’ll need to register the new domain separately via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.

  Once you have registered the domain, you can switch that to primary from the same location with no affect to your readers. The old domain will redirect to the new primary.

  Not at all, that’s all part of the domain registration.

  THanks for your help. I just bought the new domain and my site is living there now. Can i delete the other domain with no problems now?

  Yes, you should be able to cancel it without issue.

  Great. now how do I do that? I’ve gone into my domain manager but I can’t figure out how to just delete the domain

  Ah, this is past the refund date, so I’ll need to cancel it for you. Specifically, which domain did you want to cancel?

  Also, please note that we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to re-register it if that’s your plan.

  well i think i’d like to keep adamtelian.com i just don’t want it pointing to my blog livinginyourworld.com if i could just make that a separate page that’d be awesome.

  Then, just so I don’t do the wrong thing, please confirm exactly which domain you want to move to which blog.

  ok awesome so i created adamtelian1.wordpress.com, id like adamtelian.com to point to that. the blog name is adam telian.

  my other blog, its your world, im just living in it, i’d like that to stay at livinginyourworld.com
