Changing my website address

I could not find what I was looking for. I am inquiring about changing my domain name. Currently I own http://www.mamasewsbest.com. I just recently renewed but have been thinking about changing my site address as my focus has changed. Say I wanted it to be http://www.newnamehere.com instead, where can I find out how to do this? I have already paid for the year, would I have to pay again? Would there be any redirection for people who type in my old address to direct them to the new address? Thanks for your help!

It’s not possible to change the address of an already registered domain. If you want to register a new domain name, you can go to Store > Domains
on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.You can use the Site Redirect upgrade if you want to point one domain to the other: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
Or you can create a static page if you want to refer your visitors to the new domain address: http://en.support.wordpress.com/front-page

If I did register a new domain then I would lose all my content? I would have to start over?

No you won’t lose anything. If you purchase a new domain it will be attached to your existing blog.
