Hi there,
First, you’ll just need to register the new domain following the instructions here:
Then, once the new domain is registered, we’ll set it as the primary domain here:
https://victimsofmedicalerrors.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
When we do that, both victimsofmedicalerrors.com and victimsofmedicalerrors.org will redirect to recoveringfromamedicalerror.org.
On your Dashboard, when you’re creating new posts and doing admin things, you’ll still see victimsofmedicalerrors.wordpress.com. However, visitors will only see recoveringfromamedicalerror.org.
Let’s start there. Once we get that all done, we can talk about what to do with your current domains going forward!

I just completed the two tasks. The new domain is registered and has been declared as the primary site with victimsofmedicalerrors as secondary. Do I need to do anything else?
Thanks

Hey Fred,
Perfect! I went ahead and bundled recoveringfromamedicalerror.org with the Premium bundle on your account so they will be renewed together. You can see that here:
https://victimsofmedicalerrors.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades
Now, the two older domains, victimsofmedicalerrors.org and victimsofmedicalerrors.com, are still on your account. If you would like to keep them, you can renew them through the page linked above. Otherwise, you could also disable auto renew from that page above and let them expire naturally. Keep in mind, if you let them expire, they will be returned to the domain registrar and may be purchased by someone else.
Otherwise, you should be all set. Please let me know if you have any questions!
