Changing my WordPress plan

    Hi, I am thinking of changing my WordPress plan from Free to Premium as I would like to explore ways of monetizing my site.
    I read that, with a paid plan, I will be able to change the name of my website from a ‘wordpress.com’ site to a name of my choice – Is this correct? If this is the case, I am worried that I will lose my readers as my website name will be changed, and so they won’t know how to search for me. I am also worried that when my readers click on an old link to my site, they will be taken to a site that no longer exists.

    My main questions are:
    – How do I change plans without losing my content? If I choose a paid plan, will all my previous blog content automatically be moved to this plan?
    – How do I make sure I keep my audience, and that they are still able to follow old links to get to my new blog (my blog has been featured in some online articles – is there a way to redirect my readers?)

    Really, I just want to know how to successfully keep my blog content, but move it to a paid plan without losing my audience.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    You won’t lose any content. Only features will be added to your site. No transfer of content or subscribers will occur.

    If you register a custom domain we’ll automatically redirect all traffic from your .wordpress.com. So, it won’t matter if someone visits your custom domain or your .wordpress.com address, they’ll end up on the same site. There’s no need to adjust anything on your end. Everything will be done automatically by us.
