Changing Name – need forwarding?

    I posted a question about a month ago and I could never find it! So I am posting again.

    I am changing quite a few things about my Blog. I will need to have my domain name C3Imagines mapped to my blog.

    I do not want to lose my stats and such for C3ReproGraphics. I just want to make sure I am doing this right.

    I get my domain C3Imagines mapped to my Blog and then I have WordPress do a site redirect – C3ReproGraphics to C3Imagines?

    Is this correct?

    If you already have a website you don’t want to affect, and you want to add a blog to it under a subdomain (for example, blog.yourgroovydomain.com) see here http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/

    Hi there,

    Mapping a subdomain is a great idea as @timethief suggested! Take a look at the support guide she provided to see if this is something that you want.

    Another option would be to map the domain: c3imagines.com(?) to c3reprographics.wordpress.com just as you did with c3reprographics.com. If you set c3imagines.com(?) as the primary domain, when your readers go to c3reprographics.wordpress.com or c3reprographics.com they will automatically be redirected to c3imagines.com.

    Please note that a domain name is a name used to identify a particular website on the internet. Your site’s domain name is like your mailing address. Your domain exists independently of your site, so even if you cancel your domain, all the content on your site remains unchanged. This means that your stats from c3reprographics.wordpress.com remain the same and you are just changing the address at which you find your site.
