Changing name on tabs

  I have a problem with one of the tabs on my navigation bar. The default tab for the home page i.e. the page that the site opens on, has been named blog. How do I overwrite this so that is says on the tab “Home” The tab that says blog does not show up in the pages option so I can not jusr edit the tab from there.

  If I can not edit the tab, ho can I hide it, so it does not appear on the navigation bar. I have tried setting it as a sub page, but it does not show in the list where you do that. This is driving me nuts so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.
