My site is currently on a URL (cpollardlaw.wordpress.com). I have purchased a new URL and a new DNS. I am stuck in the middle of the shift because my site is hosted by Wild West Domains and I don’t know how to change the DNS info. Please help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

I hope this helps – let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the response. I contacted Wild West, but have been asked for my account # and pin. What’s the best way to get this from WordPress?

  • cpollardlaw.com is registered through WordPress.com (Wild West Domains is our registrar partner). You do not need to contact Wild West to change your nameservers to point to your new hose. That can be done through the WordPress.com interface using the instruction link in my last post.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Sorry for the barrage of emails. I tried making this change a few days ago, and then again today. Whenever I go back to it, my new nameservers are not saved. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

  • What are the nameservers that you are trying to change to? And just so we are on the same page, this is regarding cpollardlaw.com, correct?
