Changing name server to Godaddy server

  • Unknown's avatar

I will like to change the name server to point to the ipaddress GoDaddy gave me.
The problem is, the article states that I have to have a custom domain for me to be able to change the nameserver but I don’t see the option for my custom domain on the list. I purchased the domain with wordpress.com about two weeks ago which is francescanelo.com but it is never listed under “My Domain”. Whenever I try to add it manually, I get an error message saying that the domain is already mapped and registered.

Can I get this resolved as soon as possible?
I just want to be able to direct request going to francescanelo.com to Godaddy server going forward.

    Thank you.

    Hi there!

The domain you’re looking for (francescanelo.com) is registered through a different WordPress.com account (not francesomens). In order to change your DNS settings for that domain, you’ll need to log into the account that purchased the domain.

If you no longer remember the login information for that account, please fill out the account recovery form:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Once you have access to the account, here’s a guide on setting up your WordPress.com domain to work with GoDaddy:

Let me know if I can help further!
