Changing name servers didn't work. Need A record.
-
I want to point my domain name to my wordpress blog. I changed the nameservers but it still isn’t working. What is my A record?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
My domain name is through godaddy with nameservers all pointing to wordpress:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
The blog I need help with is edithmaxwell.wordpress.com and the URL I want to use is edithmaxwell.com
It’s been five days since I changed the name servers away from my former blogger blog. Godaddy said the problem is the A record isn’t pointing to the correct site. When I go to edithmaxwell.com, it says “This web page is not available.” Please help. I can’t afford to have an unavailable web page. Thanks. -
No Domain Mapping Found
There is no domain mapping upgrade for edithmaxwell.com. If you would like to use this domain you will first need to set up domain mapping.
There is information on how to set up domain mapping in our support documentation. If you need help after that, please contact our support team.
You need to map the domain also
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
$ 13.- / year

Your links are circular. None of them takes me to the place where I spend the $13/year to map my existing domain. Please send a link to that exact place. Thank you.

You should be able to find the mapping at
Dashboard >> Store >> Add Domain – Should be a “Mapping” for $ 13.- in the Add Domain box – but many people have been reporting being sent to a buy a package for $ 99.- / year Up-sell thing – when they click all the way through the domain mapping screens
I have flagged this for staff help if you can’t get to the pay only for the domain mapping at $ 13.-
sorry for the mess

If the staff has not enabled the up-selling links – this link should also get you to domain mapping

I am seeing http://edithmaxwell.com/ point correctly to your WordPress.com site.
It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.
Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
