Changing name servers on a mapping domain

  Hi WordPress community,

  I am attempting to redirect a domain to my 1and1 hosting account so that I can build a wordpress.org site on it. However, the domain my friend purchased appears to be a mapped domain not a registered domain, and the option to use WordPress name servers or not does not exist. Could you point me down the right path to making this work?
