Changing names and multiple authord
-
Hi so recently I decided to change the name of my site and in doing so I have ended up with 2 accounts associated with my site. Both have administration access, However I want to continue using only the new one and I have tried to move all my older content over so it is authored by the new account so i can delete the old user but still keep the content. However, when I try to do this it comes up with an error message but no real explanation to why I can’t do it. Please can you tell me why and if I’m doing things right etc as it is getting a little annoying having notifications etc going ot both accounts
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Are you logged in as the new user when attempting to delete the old user?
Alternatively, it may be possible for the older user/adminstrator to “leave” the blog. The Leave a Blog section of the My Blogs support page says:
If you no longer wish to be a Contributor, Author, or Editor of a blog, hover your mouse over the URL of the blog you wish to leave [at My Blogs] and click the Leave Blog link…
Obviously in this case you’d have to be logged into the old user account, but I don’t know if this will work when the user is an administrator of the new site.

Hi theboardventures,
I want to continue using only the new one and I have tried to move all my older content over so it is authored by the new account
There are two sites in your account. Can you confirm which site you would like to move your content from and to? And which username you would like to use?
Once I know more, I’ll be happy to help!

I want to keep theboardventures site and user (the new one) and get rid of the iamboardman site and user (i think this may also show up as theboardventurer atm) and have all the content on the boardventures site with it all attributed to the boardventures user – if that makes sense?</Are you logged in as the new user when attempting to delete the old user?

Hi theboardventures,
I just needed to transfer the blog ownership over to the new account before i could do what I wanted.
Glad to hear you’ve got this sorted :) It’s not possible to remove the owner of a blog but you can transfer ownership over to another account. If you need any further help, just let me know.
