Changing navigation bar in Sela theme

  I am trying to change the menu background in this theme (https://selademo.wordpress.com/), have looked up other threads on the forum but changing any of the CSS doesn’t seem to be working for me. I even used the search to look for any of the existing pink color and changed it with the one I am trying #C7B39A but still everything stays pink. Any ideas on how to change this?
