changing new blog name to a blog I want to delete

Hi. I am very frustrated. I have spent an hour trying to do the above action.
I created a second blog. It said it was easy to change the url name. That is not the case.
I want to delete my katehessphotography.wordpress.com. I want to change the name of the katehessphotos.com new blog to katehessphotography and delete the old katehessphotography.
I tried changing the url name of katehessphotography so that I could use that name for katehessphotos but it didn’t actually change because katehessphotos says it’s taken. If I had known it wasn’t easy to change url name I would have first deleted katehessphotography. It also won’t let me delete it cuz it’s linked to my profile name. I should be able to do this. Thanks. It’s listed as katehessfotos twice. I want to delete both. I tried to delete katehessphotography to a temporary name of katehessfotos to free up katehessphotography name again..but it created a third blog. ugh.

Wait. We need the full URLs you’re talking about here.
1) the URL of the blog you want to delete, all the way from http to .com
2) the URL you want to use, ditto.
3) the URL of the blog you want to use that on, ditto.

wait, when i posted this i didn’t want this to be public. does this mean any user can see this? that’s not cool. Or this going specifically to support. It says it’s visible to users.
And I did write the url’s down.
katehessphotography.wordpress.com. which might show up as katehessfotos.wordpress.com (they are all wordpress.com what do you mean you don’t have the full url)
And I wrote that I wanted to change katehessphotos.wordpress.com to katehessphotography.wordpress.com (just change the name)

It’s visible to everyone, including Google. Unfortunately, now that staff are not taking support requests from people without paid upgrades, Support messages end up here.
I asked for the full URLs because katehessphotography and katehessfotos are not URLs, and might for all I know be .com or .net or .xxx. We always need the FULL details. katehessphotos.com does not seem to exist.
Never delete something to free it up. That doesn’t work at WP.com; all such deletions are permanent.
So, you want to change one private blog to have a different URL, the URL of your public blog, is that right? Why don’t you just export the contents of that private blog and import them to the one that has the URL you want?

what i meant was…all the url’s are .wordpress.com. ?Are you saying if I export the contents of the blog I want into the one that has the url I want, the format, layout, everything will stay same? I don’t have good luck with that stuff.
When you say public blog, both should be set as private, but do you mean public as in the one that has the same as my profile/user name?

No, the format and layout will not be the same unless you use the same theme.
Right now http://katehessphotography.wordpress.com/ is private. http://katehessphotos.wordpress.com/ is public, but I can’t see any content in it.
