Changing no. of columns in gallery disappeared

  I used to be able to change the no. of columns in a gallery by clicking on the space between images. That functionality seems to have disappeared a couple of weeks ago. Is it located somewhere else now? When I click between the images it wants to add an image instead. What’s going on?
