Changing number of posts per page.

I have searched in so many places on how I can change the numbers of posts per page in my blog, but they keep talking about finding this reading option that is supposed to be in my settings. The problem here is that my settings do not have this option, and my settings looks nothing like the pictures that are shown. I cannot find reading, and I cannot find an answer.
