On my homepage I would like the opening line “We’re happy you’re here!” to be a different font than the following sentences. How do I do this with CSS?
Thanks!

Hi,
You can wrap the line “We’re happy you’re here!” with a span tag like this:
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">We're happy you're here!</span>where Verdana would be the font you want. You can change this font to whatever font you prefer.
Hope that helps!

Here is what is currently says. Would I replace the first line with your suggestion and add the font I want?
<p style=”text-align: center;”>We’re happy you’re here!</p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Check out our destinations and activities for inspiration</p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”>to get outside, explore nature, and travel with your family.</p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Or click on our recent posts to see what we’ve been up to!</p> -
Replace the first line with this instead to keep your current formatting:
<p style="font-family:Verdana; text-align:center;">We're happy you're here!</p> -
It works with Verdana but it doesn’t work with any of the other fonts I was trying. I don’t know why… I am using the font suggestions from the Customization area. not sure what the problem is…

I was going to try Bree, Adelle, and Le Monde Sans to see how it looks.
And then I was going to try and make only that lines’ font bigger than the following lines. So it stands out. Sigh. I wish this were easier! But I guess I am learning…

Hi,
To make the font bigger, you can the font-size attribute like this and change 20 to whatever number you like:
<span style="font-size: 20px; font-family: Verdana;">We're happy you're here!</span>You can also make it bold by adding the strong tag like this:
<strong><span style="font-size: 20px; font-family: Verdana;">We're happy you're here!</span></strong>For the font face, do you have the Custom Font upgrade? http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/

Sorry, I posted the old code. Let me do that again.

The code with the strong tag should be this:
<strong><span style="font-size: 20px; font-family: Verdana; text-align:center;">We're happy you're here!</span></strong> -
Thank you! Yes I do have the custom-design upgrade. I will work on plugging in some fonts and see what happens. Your help is so appreciated!!!
