changing ownership of one of my blogs on my account
-
i have 4 blogs under one user name and i have just sold one of the businesses and want to know how i transfer this account to them, i still want to keep my other accounts.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have a similar question. I manage WordPress.com blogs for myself and for one other client. I have both of these blogs under my user name and login. However, I cannot assign a specific avatar to a specific blog, i.e. one avatar per user. So, I need to create another WP account with another email address, then transfer one of the blogs. But I need to make sure the domain and premium services associated with each blog gets transferred as well.
I need to communicate directly with one of your happiness engineers before paying the $129 for their assistance. How can I do that?

Make sure a new account is set up – best to add the new account to the blog you want to transfer but not required – then go to
Dashboard >> My Blogs >> Mouse over the blog you want to transfer >> Click on Transfer and follow the directions, please spell the account correctly as there is not much spell checking
For upgrades
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> click on the Transfer option for the upgrades you want to transfer
No need to pay anything as long as the blog is staying on WordPress.COM
I think that transferring domain registration requires staff help – but it is free –
If a domain name needs to be transferred – post the domain name and the from & too accounts using small clear words so the staff can do the transfer the first time
I will flag this for staff attention in case a domain name needs to be transferred

Yes. I plan to transfer my personal blog. If something goes wrong, that would be less of a catastrophe that the one I manage for a client. In either case, there is a privately secured domain associated with the blog. I seem to recall originally securing that through Netfirm but somehow renewed thru WordPress. Not sure about that, but it seem like in I move my personal blog to a new WordPress username and associated email address, there is some kind of domain transfer that is going to be required.
In the meantime, I will create a new username. However, I don’t think I will be able to duplicated the blog name. I will probably get a message saying that name is already taken.

As long as a blog is not deleted – the worst that can go wrong is that you transfer the blog to an account that does not exist and in that case the staff can retrieve the blog for you.
Correct – you can’t create a new account with the same name as an existing blog – I am in the process of setting up a blog /web site for a friend – I created the new account with a name that matches their name – custom domain name – then created the blog – I used a spare email account – when I am done – I will change the email on the blog and account to their email address and the blog will be theirs

@reneesmooch, if you are still needing assistance with this, please let me know which of your blogs needs to be transferred, and to which WordPress.com user.
@walterwalker and @icview, please create new support threads with the address of the WordPress.com blogs you wish to transfer, and the user who should be the new blog owner. If you have upgrades on the blogs, please note that, and how you wish for the upgrades to be handled.

Please create a new thread, and if you would like, you can add the tag ‘modlook’ so that it comes to our attention.
