Changing Plans
-
I was wondering if I changed plans and monetized my site about two things. Would please still be able to read my articles in full on the reader page or have to click and go to the site? It’s happened with fellow bloggers I’ve followed over the years and I find it discourages me from keeping up on the site. I would like people to be able to read the articles on reader. The second is what happens to my current site and all my previous posts? Do they get uploaded or can I just leave this site going? Etc? Also if I monetize my site I would have to be more rigid with copyright like naming studios for stills from movies but would that be suffice or not? What about gifs? Anyway those are my questions.

Hi there @markenl, do you still need help with this issue?
You can find all the support documentation for WordPressdotcom at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ and suggestions for finding self-help solutions at https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/help-with-wordpress-com/ and https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/
To answer your questions, when you upgrade to the Premium or Business plan you are automatically included in Automattic’s WordAds program after you add a custom domain. You can learn more about WordAds and other monetization options in this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/
Upgrading does not affect how your posts appear in the WordPressdotcom Reader nor will it affect your current site appearance. If you choose to add a custom domain (which you will need to do to be included in WordAds), your visitors will be redirected to your new site address, which is still hosted here on WordPressdotcom. So our Terms of Service still applies to you.
As far as copyright, whether you are on a free-hosted site or a site with a plan doesn’t matter. You can read about copyright and fair use in our support guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/fair-use/
Let us know if you need more help with this.

Thank you Just Jennifer, I think this has been really helpful.
Just to clarify, other people who have monetised their site or gotten a domain name. They still appear on my WordPress reader but to read all of their post I have to click on to read full post here and takes me out of the reader. I am hoping to avoid making my followers do that if I monetise my site and get a domain name. Is that possible to do and is it necessary that to read the full post they will have to go the site? -
Hello again, I can’t say I’ve encountered this when reading the Reader from a web browser.
When I look at the Reader at https://wordpress.com/ all the posts from sites I follow are truncated. In order to read the full post I click on the title of the post, which opens the full post, but it’s still in the Reader.
There is a small icon in the lower left corner of the excerpted post on the Reader front page which when clicked, will take you to the site itself.
Is that what you mean?
Regardless, I hope it is clear that your site Followers choose how they read your posts. They may be reading in the web or WP app, receive instant notifications, receive new posts by email, among others.

You’re right Jennifer, it could be a software thing, it used to happen on internet explorer and my phone, maybe it still does but I just checked on the edge and you’re right I am able to read in full those posts. Anyway I just want to say I think you’ve been helpful and I appreciate it. I might sign up soon as a result to a paid plan. Thanks again.
