Changing premium domaine name

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

    I’ve purchased the domaine name sweeetescape.com 2 days ago but would like to change it to duckencounter.com. It would mean a lot to me if there is any way to do so as the cancellation period has just expired.
    Ps. I don’t need the sweeetescape.com domain anymore.

    Thanks a lot!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up re: the domain change. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard, and also disable auto-renew there.
    Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Then you can purchase a new domain mapping upgrade re: duckencounter.com

    Thanks for the quick reply! I cannot refund the upgrade anymore as the cancellation period has expired already so I can only hope that a staff can help me change the domain name or cancel sweeetescape.com for me.

    Also, if the staff helped me cancel sweeetescape.com, would I get a refund or I would have to pay an extra $18 to change to duckencounter.com? I would greatly appreciate it if a refund or an internal domain name change could be arranged. Thanks.

    @gracekywong

    At any time, you can add a new, custom domain to your site here:

    https://duckencounter.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

    Register a New Domain

    Also, I’d be happy to cancel sweeetescape.com and refund the associated charge.

    Before I proceed, there are a few points I need to cover.

    If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again, once canceled.

    If you want to keep using your domain, but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

    For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/

    Once you confirm how you’d like to proceed, I will get started processing your transaction.

    That’s alright. Please cancel the sweeetescape.com domain for me. I don’t need it anymore, and don’t want to keep it. Will register a new one once the cancellation is processed. Thanks a lot.

    @gracekywong

    I’ve canceled your domain and refunded the associated charge, as requested. Please keep in mind that it takes 1-2 weeks for the transaction to show up on your financial statement.

    If you have any more questions regarding this transaction, let me know :-)
